the above mentioned schools are not in ranking order but just like first one to come in my mind.

This post is just a reference and you should research more schools before narrowing down on a selection. These are the ones which i said suite indian sub-continent requirements and are good schools to graduate from.

Australian University Ranking

Everyone always leave a comment on the ranking provided. Now important issue i would like to bring to notice of all people reading them is...

1) I Didnt make them - its by an official independent agencies due given credit in the post

2) This is overall university rating. People tend to take them MBA program ratings etc.

So Latrobe may have bad rating on the chart for MBA...but for engineering and Agricultural Sciences i always recommend it to people.

I am more of a Melbourne fan then sydney....as melbourne offcourse was voted world's most livable city + most student friendly....+racial discrmination is most less compared to other cities pretty much nil....+ australians are very friendly people overall... so you should not worry abt these things. They respect your culture if you respect theirs....

Now for people doing a masters program in science which requires specialization in particular field then you should always look at the faculty profile of university as importantly you will be asked to get associated with one of the existing researchers.

When people put comment if they can post their email address it becomes easier to get back to otherwise its very hard to answer everyones question in the past.

Choosing Australia over US ? Reason 15 years education

these days i have been getting lot of mails from students rushing to australia due to the fact they find getting hard to get into US on 15 years degree. What i can say is that indians depend lot on word of advice of others. Which is very wrong atitude if you wish to become a sucessful manager and lead in in life.

I went forward and went through atleast 70-80 B school websites to see if the guidelines talked about 4 years undergrad as compulsion.

To my surprise except for Tuck @ Dartmouth traditional founder of MBA Program school. Rest where very open about 3 years program and understood Indian System of education very well and insisted students to apply on the basis of 3 years program degree with GMAT Scores.

sorry if i didnt cover your favourite school. But this is due to the fact i never got response from their admission office. Most of them first try to send an automated email with standard reply linking you back to their school's website. But if your question is more specific and not covered online . These schools did go the extra mile to answer the query.

The best response among all of them was from Stern Admission office. Which answered very specifically questions according to profile i emailed to them.

I asked one of my friend who had played the ball game on tution waivers in US etc. To give me answer to some questions generally one asks to admission offices of various school appyling to. Here it goes

Q) Do B-Schools offer tution waivers and scholarships.

Yes. If you are a deserving candidate and hold cards good enough to stand your ground and negotitate, you can get full tuition + living expenses. If you prove to a school you'll be an asset to them, they'll do everything in their power to get you.

Q)Example the good schools as mostly Science programs are in news for offering TA's and RA's to students.

Science programs do hold an edge in terms of funding, but Business schools have been known to dish out substantial financial awards to good students.

Q) Another thing was about campus recruitment etc. In australia we never had anything like this all students had to apply individually to any company that had advertised Graduate recruitment positions. What is it like in US ? is it pretty much on similar lines or similar to what happens in India.

I have no clue what happens in India, but here career fairs are held about twice annually where companies come and you can hand out your resumes. Then you get called for interviews and generally that happens on campus in the university's career center itself. But yes, you do need to apply to individual companies. The career centers are helpful in that they guide you in making a good resume, cover letter, interview etc and give you resources for applying but that's generally it. Most university's have thier own Monster-style websites where you upload your resume and then get interview calls. Universities only facilitate the interview process as you don't have to travel off-campus for the interview.

Q) What is the work visa scene after finishing MBA program. Do they allow you to work for 1 or 2 years without employer sponsorship or not.

No. You do need sponsorship to do any work. You get a 1 year period of OPT (optional practical training) after graduation. During that period, you look for a job and find an employer who will sponsor your H1-B visa. OPT period is basically for the student to get some practical experience and apply their academic knowledge. Since US assumes that you will certainly go back to your home country after graduation, they give you this 1 year period so that you don't just take away academic knowledge, but practical one as well, from their country. Hence, technically, you can work without sponsorship during this 1 year, but if you accept a non sponsored job at the beginning of this OPT period, it becomes really difficult to be on job and find a sponsored job simultaneously. So, to avoid confusion, its better to be on the safe side and assume that all work requires sponsorship.

Q) While you are doing MBA are their opportunities to intern or work available to gain more experience relevant to study program of your choice. Is that allowed in your visa condition.

Yes. Internships are available in abundance. You just need persistence and hard work to find one. Your visa allows you to work off-campus, but you need your school's and BCIS's permission to work off-campus. Depending on your school's policies and co-op programs, you may be able to do either summer only internships or internships that last one summer + one semester. This is something that varies a lot from school to school and only your particular school can give you more information.

Q) Lastly in your opinion is East Coast better or West Coast better in terms of schools vs job opportunities.

In my opinion, it doesn't matter at all. Geography has nothing to do with how your future turns out. If I had offers from universities all over the country, I'd see (1) how much money each is paying; (2) how well is the university's Business school ranked; (3) what kind of faculty your program has; (4) what does the alumni say about the program - if you can get hold of them, that is; and (5) lastly a subjective decision based upon things like the setting of the university - urban or rural etc - and what kind of climate the place has - how much snow? how many days of sunshine? etc.

Hope this help you guys in evaluating your option to US again before you try to Australia.As my point is Australia is no second rug option. Schools need people who take australia as their first option as then only they will feel like a winner. I have seen lot of people comming to australia like Canada and looking at it as a passage to US. Please dont fall in this risky bracket as this will leave a mark of uncertainity and unstability in your life for long.

MBA Marketing Special...........................................................................................................

Thanks for all people who keep visiting my blogs for more information on Study Australia. Though i try to answer all questions possible, but still few people put message requesting further details.

Now the thing is that people generally come to infozee.com or my blog looking for all cooked up information. But they forget to go through pervious posts by other people or previous posts made on this blog.

Now the reason i wrote header as MBA Marketing Special is that these days lot of people have been asking about scope of MBA with specialization in Marketing. Now its one of the best major according to me one can do. But keeping in mind Australian market.. what i would encourage is people should also highlight their previous work experience before pursuing MBA. So that employer can generally co-relate to your long term goals and how MBA puts in as an Milestone.

Marketing is a field where there is never dearth of jobs so any person looking to enter this field should not be worried. Lot of retail marketing is done on phones in australia via call centre so these centre's also provide good internship or market touch and feel experience while you study. Lot of future corporate managers i have seen have grown out of these places. If you have previous work experience that can surely make a lot of difference on resume. As this gives one confidence to offer you more responsible role specially in speciality verticals.

Always look out @ www.seek.com.au to get general feeler of market and will your profile after MBA suite the jobs listed. I use to love this site for job hunting and i still believe it is the best available way after Word of Mouth offcourse.

Melbourne Business School Vs AGSM

For Long i have recieved lot of emails requested information on which is a better school AGSM or MBS. Since last 4-5 years i have tried hard to keep track of all Business School ranking being released around the world and these 2 schools have represented australia on any international list. As compared to other international schools like INSEAD and LSE outside US featuring prominently on these lists these schools have less attraction to non-asian international students looking for MBA abroad.

Now to understand how does economics of a country affect study pattern of a school and their overall rankings and student intake would be like writting a thesis. But Lets look at these schools just based on information accessiable to everyone.

MBS is considered more prestigious over AGSM for ages due to its association with University of Melbourne one of the oldest and top ranked institution in Australia. AGSM on the other hand is part of University of New South wales known for its nack for overall business research and association with industry. Now please note being a melbournian inclination towards MBS will be clearer as more text you read of this Blog. But please note its more than the fact as with passing times where admissions have falled across the board for various schools around the world .MBS has been constantly increasing their standards and making it more harder for getting admission into giving you the best class of MBA students to study with.

MBS has always been hard and strong in strategic management and marketing. On comparision AGSM has come strong on executive education and finance is where they score points for me. But keeping in mind both these schools admission criteria implies people with atleast 3-5 years of work experience only seep through means that MBA is not to make you a finance or specialist guy but to provide you skills in leadership and mangement or lead a path of enterprenuership. Keeping this in mind MBS comes out straight winner as they have been known to provide foundation for nurturing leaders of tommorow. To prove this current Australian corporate leadership 70% are graduates or MBS or somehow related to MBS.

Hence for a person who can afford $60,000 in tution fees for 2 years program MBS MBA is the one. On other hand if you are currently on shore in australia and need MBA which can help you get the foundation to keep you moving in career without compromising on financial benefits of being at workplace.even AGSM executive education is a really food alternative. with classes happening all over australia i would even recommend to busy people looking at MBA to improve promotion chances at work.

Also people should look at UQT and Swinburne school of enterprenuership.

Accounting Major

As everyone has been lately asking me details on accounting major and australia i would like to start by answering some one's comment on accounting major. What i meant in my post about Bachelors with accounting major here was as it open door to a job in demand and if you have done it from australia, under the present rules you do rack up the points to get permanent residency.

Following is the point system in effect 2nd April'2005

Major in Accounting - 60 points

Profficency in English (Proof in form of IELTS Test) - 30 points

Age 18-29 - 20 points

Major completed in Australia with 2 years continous study onshore - 5 points

Job in Demand which accounting is - 15 points

De-facto or Spouse if elegible - 15 points

This will help you benchmark yourself for PR conditions and point system in Australia

120 is pass mark and generally if you have that and rest is alrite you will get if within 6-9 months if applied on shore.

Job Market in Australia

Many people ask me question in regard to this and following are more specific to the point questions and answer session from my previous chat and messages on the message board

Q1) Is it possible to stay back in Australia after doing MBA ?

Ans) According to the Australian Immigration LAW Indian students have to leave the shore within 28 days of completion of degree if they are not able to secure full time Employment where there employers is ready to sponsor there work permit.

Q2)Is it easy to get these jobs which will get you Work Permit ?

Ans) They are very rare and i have not meet a single person till date sucessful under this category.

Q3) So then what is the alternative ?

Ans) If you are really desperate and have done a Bachelors with Accounting Major then you are in luck as you may qualify for Permanent Residency or Green Card of Australia.

Q4) Should i realy on P.R as method to stay back in Australia ?

Ans) With more people migrating to Australia its day by day becoming difficult to migrate or get P.R of Australia. Every 6 months rule change. You local agents other than IDP will be able to tell you latest scenario but dont rely on information as it may change again when you are on shore.

Q5) What do employers look from an MBA ?

Ans) They look in terms of specialization and experience they carry.The concept of mba according to them is a proffesional with 2-3 years experience and theoritical polishing provided by MBA ready to practise enhanced skills and efficent methods learnt of doing things in real time world based on previous experience etc..

Q6) is MBA better for me if i have already done BBA for example ?

Ans ) NO its better to do MA in Finance or Marketing as it talks about specialization which will help you in long run then an MBA.

Hi there,

so many people ask me regarding donig MS from Australia following is the answer from my side for them

: it all depends on what kind of Research Interest do you have. As different university will have different scholars good in one thing and others good in another.

Like for example i have done my B.S Computer Science from Latrobe Uni. Now The scholars here are know for Software Engineering.

The best uni to do MS from Australia i believe is UTS as the research scholars there are the best. Also another good point about that university is their Dean (IT) is very initative taking hence whatever research opportunity you will get. His brand name will make a lot of effort in terms of getting yourself funding for carrying it forwards.

Another thing i would like to mention to you is if you planning to come to Australia for just sake of getting a Masters of Computer Science and find a job then forget it as the market does not work here like this. The Market here expect a Masters in Computer Science graduate to have completed a research project as part of his degree and more than that should have minimum 3-4 years post-undergrad experience and your reason for masters for them should reflect specialization in area of interest. If you feel above requirement will not pose a problem when going in for an interview. You are most welcome to touch the Australian shores.

Otherwise i feel you should think about doing work in India as rite now growth opportunity as far IT is considered is more in india then in any other country. If you can rise with the tide get work experience for 2-3 years in a good MNC like Accenture Technologies or others and later ask the H.R to sponsor yours MCS (Research).

Now that makes more sense to me as well as this will help you make up path for Settling down long term in country of your choice.

Just select your specialization from following fields like

- Broadband networks

- Wireless Networks

- Software Quality

- A.I

- E-Commerce

- Security etc...

there are few fields to get your mind working. other than this just a little hint out.

RMIT - Networking & Telecommunication

Monash - Commerce and Multimedia(depends on Monash Campus)

UTS - Software Engineering, BIOTECH,AI

Latrobe - Software Engineering & AI

Hi ,

this new year has been really great for me till now . I have been getting good news since start of it. I have matured internally to understand the life better and see through a new glass prism which gives me idea on how other people look at me.

Around Christmas after my trip to Sydney i started reading a book by Guy Kawasaki called " The Art of Start". This book takes a wanna be enterprenuer through various stages of Foundation of an organization.

This book gave me a better understanding of few things which i thought we obiovous in a process of starting an organization. I learnt a very important lesson

i) Don't take things for guaranteed

ii) Learn to ask lot of questions and have an possibility ready in case of back fire of situation.

iii) Bootstrapping is key to success.

This help's me to open another chapter of life where rather than being on front foot, also learn to play some defensive back foot cricket.

guy Kawasaki explains in lot of detail stuff which a simple CS major degree can use a PRIMER to learn the business terms and working style.

I believe my efforts being put in writing application with my mates in Garage other than my daily commitment to Cyberica will lead one day to another sucessful venture to be appreciated by masses in general.

I dont believe in becoming the Next MICROSOFT, but some one who would make a clear impact in life's of people they touch. In today's world a person can only succeed by collabration. Honestly speaking people with short term thinking with idealogy to advance on others expense wont go long in the race of life.

I recon lesson learnt here.

I know so many people who always ask me question in regard to studies in Australia. I know with my degree from Australia and more than 3 years experience living there surely helps in providing relevant answers to there queries, Though i some time feel i could help people more if i have a strict better managed resource where i could answer people queries and direct them to other experts how have knowledge of the area and heart to help people with.

Ans) If you are smart enough to take a decision to do an MBA, i believe then you should smart enough to select a location for your MBA too

Following are the factors which should be levied while selection a location anywhere in the world for doing MBA

- Industrial Town & City. Once you complete an MBA choice or atleast a positive chance of landing job with a good established employer.

- Large amount of international recognistion to the place as a business location.

In this case only 2 cities in australia will suite the defination - Melbourne and Sydney while later being more suitable with more opportunities.

Q3) Job Opportunties in Australia after MBA ?

Ans ) Job Market in Australia is really bad if you dont have any experience . If you have more than 4-5 years experience in a particular field they will welcome you with open arms. Other wise you will end up working in call centre's or driving taxi's this is the situation of most of graduates here.

Q4)Cost of living while studying in Australia ?

Ans) Now this varies from city to city on an average Cost of living breaks up as following

Rent 200-300 AUD in shared accomodation with 3-4 friends. Monthly expense can be pitted at 750 -1200 AUD depending on person to person habits and lifestyle.

Q5)Is PR affected by the area where we live in(like extra points fer rural areas)

Ans. Well yes if these uni's are in rural category like western australia then surely you will get points in P.R . But then any dream to earn your own living cost and be good byed.

Another reason why you should do MBA from a good business school in a big city. as you will have better job
prospects because of alumni base. Job prospects as far as MBA's are concerned are very dim in this economy but you will find immediate employment for around 35-40 K package on completion of degree as most of the companies here rely on linkage of their Accounting and Finance department with Call Centres. With experience atleast you will find staright employment. But as far as P.R is concerned its difficult for MBA's to find Jobs except for call centres to begin with this is the reason P.R is difficult to get at current position.

i have found a new home to live. Good thing about the place is its just opposite KFC. Bad thing is too close to it. Though this new year rather than wasting time writing about stuff i really dont care too much, i would like to appeal to everyone to please donate atleast 1 day salary for the people struck by modern days worst calamity : TSUNAMI.

Big Fun Melbourne STYLE @ Weekend!!!

This weekend was one of the most memorable weekends i have spent as part of my life here in melbourne. After ages i had come out of the daily routine to party hard and party good.

After getting over this stupid project i had been working since start of the year i was looking for something to clear up my head before i have to engage myself back with something else.

I started an early weekend by taking off from work on Friday. So spent whole evening Thursday preparing for a No WORRIESS!!! Weekend. On Friday the day begin only at 5:00 PM with the sight of settin SUN.

There was no time wasted in getting into the city on time before the Big Footy Final started. It was such a wonderful feeling to go against the traffic where everyone is trying to come out of the city and you are tryin to get in.

anyway spent the next 4 hrs watchin the game at a PUB. It was an amazin game as offcourse the team i didnt go for got a beating.The special feeling of seeing you rest of the mates turn up tired from work on Friday nite is amazing when you are FRESH!!! like anythin.

Anyway the plan was to move forward from the PUB to a friend place to catch up on some home made cooking and watch the latest Release "THE VILLAGE".

It was a Not to bad job done for an indian. I was pretty suprised by the bad rating given by YAHOO people. I could not have possibly thought of such an ending given to the film. The way it evolved was superb.

Out of the movie meet couple of friends who brought in some girls to lite up the nite for us. Anyway we all ended up in a suburban night club with mainly 18-20 yearold crowd from the towns in radius of 20-30 miles.

Anyway by the time our friends started to get kicked out due to their usual drink behaviour it was 6 in the morning.

I stayed over my friends place and next day again headed back home to get some sleep. Anyway at 5 i got another call to be in the city @ 10:00 PM. This time i couldnt say no for some reason. Anyway after lot of calculation keeping in mind toll it will take on my MONDAY i decided to rock up at the invited place at 1 in the mornin. Though the birthday girl was not happy but little suprised by atleast i showed up. You know being a ladies man atleast i will end up leaving an impression.

The NITE carried forward by heading down to a friends Club. He has been inviting for a long time since he had started managing the place.Anyway rocked up at the joint got free GUEST LIST entry. got SMASSHEEDD!!! big time. It was fun. Closing of club at 4:00 AM pushed further down self to Lounge which has a big scene for TRANCE MUSIC!!!.

i found a really good Essay about India. I have also attached the URL from where i have taken it. But as i do share some idealogy of the author hence would like to share with my friends.

The western world always had a misconception about India. People thought a snake charmer, wearing a turban, having a woman draped in a sari and a coloured dot on her forehead as a wife, performing rope trick, an Indian. Ofcourse, there are other things like Elephants, Tigers, Horses, Maharajas, Palaces, Jungles, Bandits, Sadhus, Mystics, Beggars, Slums, etc., which was always associated with India. When I first came here, somebody asked me whether my family back home owned Elephants! HA! Well, I don't blame you for this incredible imagination. It is our own mistake for not presenting a correct picture of ourselves.
In this article I would like to give you a glimpse of the most important contributions India has made to the human civilisation. Here, when I say India, it is not just talking about a place called, "The Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic, Republic of India." I am talking about the present nations of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Tibet. I would also like to warn the class that the opinion expressed here is solely mine and no second Indian would subscribe to most of the theories, particularly about Religion. Some Indians might even consider it as blasphemy. Others might dismiss this as an estranged thinking of a mad man. But these interpretations were based on logic and facts, which I encountered in my journey through life and death, in search of the Truth.
India, the name originated from Indus, the Anglicised version of Hindu, which in turn is an Arabic version of Sindhu, a major river in the western part of India. Sindhu or Indus river is the home of one of the earliest known human civilisations in history, The Indus valley civilisation. The Indian name of this place is Bharatha, which has its origin on a character called 'Bharatha'. The explanation of who this character was, is typical Indian. There are two different versions -- One says, it is the sage Bharatha, who is credited for writing the first book on acting. Others say, it is Bharatha, a character in the epic Mahabharatha. In the ancient world India was known as 'Aryavrata', which closely means, "The land where superiors live" - superiors by knowledge.
Religion, the theory of the unknown. The living religions of this planet were created in and around India. The most important of them are Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism and Islam. Others being, Parse, Jain and Sikh philosophies. Except for Judaism, Christianity and Islam, the rest of the philosophies are Indian. The most important of Indian philosophies are Buddhism and Hinduism, which originated from the Vedic period. According to me, Vedic is the only period in time where, as a society, Homo Sapiens lived as Humans.The creation of Buddhism was a continuous process of the Vedic school of thinking, whereas, Hinduism originated from a distorted and misinterpretation of the same. Most Indians believe that Vedic and Hindu philosophies are one and the same. But, unfortunately, it is not so, Vedic philosophy is based on Logic, Hinduism on Magic!
'Veda' means knowledge in Sanskrit language. Science and Mathematics -- including numeral system and "zero", Geometry, Astronomy, Astrology, calculation of time and space, theories on the origins of life, definition of abstraction, research of sound effects on humans and nature, ethics, democratic administration, architecture, mechanics, metallurgy, advanced system of communication in the form of Sanskrit language and Devanagari script, systematic study of medicine, study of knowledge, narcotics and mind control substances to name a few were achievements of this period. Vedic Indians worshipped nature in an abstract form. It is believed that this civilisation existed somewhere between 3000 and 4000 BC.
Language, the form of communication in sound, writing and performances were perfected in India. Communication by sound and writing in the form of Sanskrit language and Devanagari script is the only combination ever created wherein any sound can be written down. It has a vast vocabulary, well-defined grammar and speech system which later in time largely was adopted by other living languages of the world. Unlike, other languages, Sanskrit and Devanagari did not evolve in time, they were created and perfected by research.
Sanskrit literature has the largest collection of masterpieces in prose, poetry and play forms in both fiction and non-fiction versions. 'Mahabharata' is the longest poetry ever written in history. It has 100,000 stanzas and is the largest epic of all times. The author, 'Vyasa' also wrote eighteen works of fiction called the 'Puranas', a collection of moral stories based on imaginary characters which can be considered as the origination of modern day Hinduism. His other work is the 'Vedas', which is a compilation of the research done in the Vedic period, centuries before him.
Sanskrit theatre is the oldest in the world. Even before the Greeks opened their show, books were written on the fine art of Drama, Dance and Music. Sage Bharatha's work, 'Natyashastra' is the Bible of acting. Classical dance forms like, Bharathanatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, etc., originated from his principles. Hundred's of plays has been written and performed through centuries. The most famous of the dramatists was "Kalidasa" who is believed to have lived in the first century BC in the court of 'Bhoja Raja' of Ujjain city in central India. One of his works, 'Abhignana Shakuntala' is considered as a masterpiece by both western and eastern scholars. Some of his other works were 'Meghadootam' and 'Kumarasambhava'. His style and usage of language have no parallel in the history of theatre.
Thousands of books in prose form were also written in Sanskrit, briefly, some of them are Chanakya's "Arthashastra" (325 BC) the book on statecraft that describes the art and methods of administration, control of economy, construction of cities and houses. This book also contains techniques of spying, diplomacy, make-up, regulation of prostitution among other things; Vishnu Sharma's "Panchatantra", a huge collection of moral stories with humans and animals as characters. This work is considered as an inspiration to the Buddhist 'Jataka Tales' and Asop's fables; Vatsayana's "Kamasuthra", systematised and converted carnal act of sex to a fine art; Etc.
There are so many things that originated in India which later in time was adopted by other civilisations. The subject of 'Indology' is as vast as infinity. It is not easy to explain or describe India in one paper. The deeper one goes, the more they discover. It is a tragedy that the present day Indians are constructing a building far away from the foundation their ancestors built. I know, understand and accept the fact that majority of Homo Sapiens would not accept my points of view. The reason, they don't look around. There is an ancient Indian saying, "Knowledge is for those who seek." And, knowledge is buried deep inside a place called India.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for not posting for really long time. There were many things which went wrong during these 2 months.

I Lost a very close friend which i knew since early days of university. The worst part was the cause of death. Anyway i am all over it and i am looking forward to other good development happening around me.

Life has been a rollercoaster ride for a long time now and i have realized its again time to make decisions. Well my work demands me to move places. But since i have been here for such short time i dont believe i m ready for such a change so soon. Like my life was looking in control i knew my local supermarket check out girl had the tap at the nearest Chinese food joint. Had Friends scattered all over the joint.

But there was something in my mind saying that you are not meant for the place and go somewhere else in life. Well i hinted this out to the management and next thing i hear is orders to pack bags as soon as current planned period is over.

Well now due to my job requirements my management and somewhere myself i want to do an MBA. Now doing an MBA is certainly a good thing but selecting a major is a seperate issue altogether. Now where i stand currently is with a stance to do an MBA with Finance and Marketing Major.

Now when i propose this to my company head he was not happy to here about it. He wanted me to go and do MBA(IT). So that management skills i gain should concentrate towards the vertical industry i work in.

Now i am not in a favor as such to do a field specific MBA as i believe this defeats the purpose of doing an MBA. I believe specialization of one should come based on experience one has gain during the years before MBA or after based on theoritical knowledge gained.

Now based on this our CFO recommended to me to go on for MBA/MSE. Now doing this kind of program will satisfy my hunger for Finance or Marketing Major and satisify company requirements for exposure in IT project management field via MSE.

Now this is a really big decision to go in for such a program. As first of all amount of efforts required from my side will be double. Beside this the program length in itself is 32 Months. Which is 2 1/2 year of study. I dont know i will be able to sustain so long or not in a course. Beside they want me to part-time work as Project Manager at the designated regional office in which ever country i go on to pursue a degree.

For instance the corporation has expanded to UK recently and they are encouraging me to find a program there to take admission.

I have personal liking for USA if i have to do MSE in any case due to the available exposure of latest technologies. Beside there are already lot of clients for our company in the region. Would like to go and meet them build trust and ensure more business generation from the region .Though this is still in speculation you dont understand a market till you have spent some time there.

Its a big gamble and surely would like people to pour in some advice. If you people know any better program for me do post a reply for me to visit.

Secondly Karan specially for you i will start some C++ tutorials here so that you can get pass 12th grade and into good university.

GMAIL welcome to Google INC.

Hi guys,

before i start writting i would love to say i had the best thai food ever in my life today. Eating Thai food always remind me of indian curries cooked in mild flavor.

I always make it a point that i have good lunch every friday so that can enjoy the best out of my weekend with an early start.

This week work had involved doing research here and there + doing reality check on background/viability of projects being proposed to be developed.

I was involved doing BETA Testing for GMAIL for my boss as he has been really interested in understanding need/viability and to find an actual reason behind why Google came up with GMAIL.

First step to get started was to get an invite to use GMAIL. As you all know right now GMAIL is in beta testing stage and is invitation only.

Lucky for me i use BlogSpot for sharing my thoughts with everyone out there. Logged into write a blog and find on the right hand side an AD by google saying. "Would you please like to test Gmail"

Step 2 : answer is YES

Well google people are very smart and to keep people like me to make multiple mail addresses at one time. I tried clicking on the link again from my blogspot account and could not get through.

This thing has another deep meaning which makes you thing Google is trying to turn into another Yahoo where they are carefully building their web properties in seperate entities but keeping them linked in such a fashion that one day consolidating them together under a new umberalla wont be a problem.

Google's IPO was oversubscribed and they have enough money to take over pretty much anyone big rite now.

Getting back to GMAIL. Once you login its a pretty neat design making me remember my university time e-mail address when i actual use to use it. Simple neat texty. See no company can survive to give free e-mail without AD's and same goes for google. Now as far homepage is concerned i hate Animated ad's when i m there to read my mail. so google learned this fine point very clear and didnt throw any ad on the homepage for me.Once this was done then the job of snooping through features started.

i have subscribed to lot of technology newsletters and rest assure Google is putting them in SPAM MAILS. google's GMAIL SPAM FILTER RATE According to me is 67% which is not too bad. As Hotmail's SPAM FILTER RATE is 30% according to me and Yahoo stands at good 43%.

For further testing of their content in e-mail based Ad's i m trying to include keywords like Porn,SEX,Guns,Violance just to see if they bring up ad's or not with the e-mail. As Kid filter for e-mails like these is must and just like they have moderate search available. They should have moderate Ad's turn on and off facilty in this.

Want to see can we have a way such that an option like scan on scan off could be made available for e-mails comming in from trusted contacts. This would certainly help streamline operations for corporate looking forward to use gmail for their advantage.

Also allowing gmail to be used with Outlook would certainly help even if it involves development of a component to get ad's with the mails onto people's computers.

Lets see still testing this baby. Hope to send out some invitations to everyone. Do put in your feedback if you are looking for Google Invitation to use GMAIL.

Life .NET!!

Hi everyone,

since comming in of .NET life has changed a lot at the job front. First of all people who were comming sitting in the IT industry were shaken to learn something new and compete with the fresher bread of minds for survival in the industry.

There are very few companies left in the world which have not been touched by the .NET bug and with every day passing by and people discovering something new about .NET it looks like Microsoft has unvieled a series like of ROCKY with never ending Sequel.

If Microsoft has been working to form a cult and following what Unix/Linux have today .NET has given them the best shot at it.

Day is not far when we will see more number of people walking down the streets using .NET powered devices. We already have phones shipping in and the proposed Multimedia Center for home comming in end of the year. Things are going Microsoft way.

Looking at Microsoft's 3 languages

- Vb.NET
- C#
- C++ .NET

i would say i love C# as it let me walk the tight rope between the 2 extremes. Though i have no grudge against Vb.NET but my disliking for programming in Visual basic due to its simplicity and more control of language over operator then the other way round takes me a step away from it.

C++.NET on the other hand is the immortality i want to achieve but still stands at a distance due to rate of exploration and its sacredness among the comman developer world.

just like now Visual C++ was always not everyone' cup of tea same goes for C++.NET. If one thinks he is the master of all time and would seriously wants to do thing differently then this is the language to explore.

Anyway i will head back into office after 2 hrs again and i have more to share as i have been missing on writting stuff for ages now.

All work done, Desk is Clear

Hi Guys,

sorry for not writing for such a long time. Was busy finishing up all the work which had piled up. Now with my desk clear i am all set to catch up with my life.

I have already started my week with giving the traditional visit to my old favourite joints in the city. It was really good to catch up with old friends. Now with everything done i can sit down for some time and enjoy my laptop.

I have already gone through a season of FRAISER and MALCOM IN MIDDLE. This weekend has been the most relaxing weekend i had ever. With monday soon approaching things will be comming back to routine but by that time . I will be over my love for Pizza Hut and Maccers. Today after ages i cooked a meal at home. Damn!!! it was hard. It has been ages i cooked anything and surely i remember words said by my mom you dont forget something like cooking so easily. With so much mess i made in my kitchen i still managed to cook up something edible. Good old days at home i miss them.

Today the life was also rocked with many suprises. I got call from JITU. Well he is one of the guys i thought was very good friend of mine but past 2 months havent seen much of him. He is too busy in his world and i will not only blame him for that but my own act. I had been too busy with work lately but a call never hurts. With another 200$ telephone bill to pay this month making a call is a big effort taken from my side. People i call will certainly appreciate my effort to still use the phone after such heart attack bills. But then OPTUS cant get customer like me everyday.

Till Date easy 3000$ must have been spended on my phone bills. No wonders whatever i earn is never enough for me and always remain broke.

Anyway lot of crying wont take anywhere. ENJOY THE LIFE IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS. Let me see till when i can carry out and enjoy every single moment of my life.

finally my wish has come true. I have finally purchased a new laptop after such a long wait.Since i broke the LCD screen of my old laptop i was without one and every day of my life since that day i felt i was missing on something.

With the new laptop comming on Tuesday i am all set. I can catch up with the last season of Friend's and all other movies DVD pillin up at my place.

Indian Elections 2004

The Result of the Indian Elections came as a wide shock to me. I am a true supporter of economic reforms and for advancement of infrastructure for the people in the outback india.

BJP the part ousted in this election was lead by Atal Vajpayee a man with vision. In the last 6 years under his leadership India has risen to the power establishing as a Third power which cannot be ignore before deciding on fate of any action to be taken in the world.

To be very honest if you look back from common man perspective i dont feel anything wrong with Sonia Gandhi being a Prime Minister its the INDIAN NATIONAL CONGRESS which is problemitic. With the old horses back in power the corruption level will rise back again. Here i am not trying to say during the rule of BJP there was no corruption. Comman man wish is take money but atleast do work BJP people also took money but did work whereas congress people which take power for granted only look at the post they sit as an industry to print money. If Congress has to lead and take advantage of being party in power they would need to change this atitude of their leaders and rather than bringing back people of age 60+ to hold portfolio's in cabinet they need to look forward to give chance to younger leaders.

With the above said i still have one thing to say let it be Nehru or Indira Gandhi. No party gave the finiest and honest Prime Minister then BJP.

I hope India will still remain "SHINING".

Hi Everyone,

finally i got the SMM Project file of my desk. 3 days late but such a relief that i have done it actually according to my satisfaction.

Except for the pressure of work this week everything has been good. My work with LatWise Solutions early this year paid me off with Latwise winning the best business plan proposed in Victoria.

It was matter of great pride and honour to meet people from one of the australia's biggest goverment employer.

What i am not happy these days is with input i personally provide to SoftCraft Technologies. There is a lot of ground work which is missing from establishing it as a good Project Management Team.

When i tried identifying the problem it was not that the VISION was missing it was acutal pressure on every individual at other fronts and way everyone including myself were handling it.

Time Management has become a really big problem. Partially INTERNET and IM access to every team member is to be blamed. Also sense of responsibility in terms of everyone wants to do everyone and people's wishes to pursue individual ambitions.

Its nothing that i dont have personal goals which i want to achieve but it has never thought on the expense of others. The problem happens is you cannot blame anyone is you yourself are to blamed for half of the things and for rest your very own friends are.Being friends personal and work issues get mingled leading to conflicts.

Conflict management is which is little bit in control due to friendship but partially even leading to it sometimes.

I am not able to find a solution as i am not one of those damn organized people who would like to work by the needle of clock. I am one of the people which belives in doing things complete and better than other even which means little lag for now but great success in future.

The same mantra which i used to get working previous years way back from my school are failing.

atitude towards life has changed i have started taking issues comming towards me seriously planning the future has become part of my major recovery plan.

The thing which need to be looked at is how i can manage my PERSONAL TIME and WORK TIME. Both of them have become totally mingled.

I need to divide time equally to Cyberica and Softcraft to ensure sucess at both fronts.

Lets see how things go will keep everyone posted.

Wifi Phone on the Role!!!

I was trying to find answer to my biggest question .To Buy a COMPUTER or a LAPTOP?

This search took me away on hike to Clive Peeters(Thomastown) morning 8:30.

Mission find out the best laptop in town.

Answer : first look felt for Toshiba Laptop which has 17'inch screen with 1GB dedicated RAM and 128 MB GeForce 5200 card. Damn Cost is too good to even make my mind change to use computers - 5000 AUD.

Immediately in mind calculations started. How much salary is comming in how much need for personal expenses how much for rainy days etc. But still short by 1500 AUD. No good.

Then the search for the next option started.

A beautiful Compaq pressario 3003 Series resting alone with 3.2 GHz HT . 512 MB RAM and ATI Radeon 9000 Graphic card. In my budget 3000 AUD. With added accessories i m looking at a figure of 3500 AUD.

The only thing is if you do some research about compaq 3003 its more of a desktop replacement laptop's. This means

- Bulky like old laptop's of 1200 series
- Battery life is still 2-3 hrs
- Graphic card sharing memory this makes only 384 MB of dedicated memory available to all

Still no comparision to the Toshiba but a contendent runner up.

Doing comparision with Dell INSPIRON compaq scored at all the fronts i m concerned with.

- Loading time for IDE's like Visual Studio .NET 2003.
- Ability to run Windows Server 2003 edition and its family of software

Next question which was to be answered in your mind whenever you are making a purchase above 1000$ how long till till the technology get's outdated.

Being a techie i got a straight answer : Around 4 hrs before you start checking online comparision with other latest models online and comming soon. But the point is what all can you forsee your self doing for next 3 years. For me electronics have a deprcetion of 1000$ every year.

Answering them very straight forward helped me rule out Toshiba Laptop. But with compaq laptop i m still not able to decide should i look forward to have a better battery life so that as next i will be talking abt Wifi as technology will be dominant in the future and do i stand to miss out by not going with centrino.

Answer to this was INTEL IS BRINGING BACK NEW IMPROVED MOBILE PROCESSOR. THE "M" Power is going to be back.

I resspectively cutting short everything i will buy laptop by end of the month irespect of anything. I NEED IT.

With Laptop comming in i plan to buy a Wifi Router to go with it so that one time tension of long lan cable is also gone. With this i also open door for testing of other wifi devices.

I was reading abt Wifi phone's which has implementation similar to IP Telephony whereas you can route calls within people on same hotspot. There are some security concerns as people are still playing with wireless technology.

Evolution of Wifi at mass scale can be when this technology is started to be implemented by Telcom and Internet Service Providers at rural level so that other companies can come in an equipe people at the root level with the similar tools at urban level. Wifi answers this and if studied properly can be a real good option.

Another night passed away and still the software metrics project remains on my desk. With passing submission date things dont look good for other projects waiting in the queue.

This week has been the worst as far as time management is concerned and all wrong selections have been made through out. Few of the things which i regret is the quality time i used to spend with my friends.

Hi everyone,

sorry for not posting anything happening in my life for long time. Since i came back to Australia again life has been full of turns with unexpected happening.

Since day 1 of landing back i have been counting days to get back to INDIA my motherland. This time when i came back to australia to resume with my good old ozzy style life. Things were not so good. This year as my assignment asks me to be here in this country for more than 1 year i dont have anything to look forward too.

For Last 3 years i have not celebrted Diwali the Indian Festival of Lights with family which makes me really depressed. Dont know till when can i continue the life on steaks and pies.

Anyway this is life and to achieve the ultimate goal one need to compromise few things.
On the other hand few interesting things are happeining always around you which though sometime look typical to a person but are very different then what used to be in the past.

For instance while i m writting this blog my collegue sitting in cubical next to me is busy finding girls on internet to marry with. How much the internet has changed life for everyone around.

'SEX IN THE CITY' one of my favourite shows have also focused on how dating changes life and the eposide when Sarah Jessica Parker and her gang started finding guys on the internet.

How cool is the concept on first place to meet someone random and try to click in the first go as you have known each other for ages. Haven't tried it till date and dont think so this will work for me.

Though when time will come will give it a TRY as i belive in trying it first then beliving it through words of others.

Anyway i have to get back to development of software metrics for project i m working on as its to be submitted tommorow morning.

Guys sorry forgot to mention an important news. I passed my CISCO 640-801 paper and hence i am proud to announce that i am a full fledge CCNA - CISCO CERTIFIED NETWORK ASSOCIATE. I recieved a score of 926 in exam. I HOPE THAT SPANNING TREE ALGO comes in handy in future.

Hi Friends,

a very very very happy and prosperous 2004 for every one. Last year 2003 has brought many changes in people's lives worldwide. The world has seen lot of suffering ranging from AFGHANISTAN to IRAQ. Due to this emerging economies like INDIA has suffered so much financially effecting not the government but the people's home directly.

On one side we saw rise in jobs due to the latest jargon BPO but on the other side we saw down fall in indian exports of core IT domain like Customized Application Development and Internet Consultancy. Due to this many people also went job less and were driven to venture into non core expertises taking the effect of sufferings to other domains. This let to overall decrease in Pay structure for everyone.

With Indian FOREX RESERVE's reaching the level high in history of Asia and as our GOVERMENT OF INDIA is projecting INDIA IS SHINING we can see an atmostphere of changing atitudes around. We can see businesses are again ready to experiment new and are giving opportunity to technology to change lives. With Companies world wide changing their course i felt very proud when our corporation's CEO recently announced special focus for the year on Packaged Application Development.

Hello Everyone,

i hope every one had the best of christmas with family and friends. It was a very special day for me as it gave me an opportunity to see all of my family together and happy.

I dont know when i will get another chance to see my family like this. I hope everyone around the world will be still is festive spirit and celebrating each inching ending hours of the year.

I dont know about others but i plan to celebrate New Year EVE with my family.

Anyway there is still some days to it and some pending work to complete. This is a problem you will face when you work for an indian company that is you dont get the last week of the year as off. The Project which i am working on currently is really getting interesting with new ideas i am getting.

I am looking towards Web Services for fair integration into the project.Beside this nothing special. I was browsing the web for CD-MP3 Portable Player. I went to Cnet.com and read some reviews. I RIVER is a really cool product and not so expensive.Its Under 300 AUD which is pretty much in my budget. While on transit in Singapore i hope to pick up one which is even cheaper. As you enter Singapore Electronic MARKET (SIM LIM SQUARE) the first feel you get is damnit i hope my credit card company does not come running back for the money i am going to spend.

My mate picked up a laptop in Australia for 3000 AUD X1000 series Compaq same one in Singapore was for 2200 AUD. One Day when i will have unlimited money to spend then i will take a holy visit to this heaven and fulfill all my dreams.

Hey while i was writting this Blog i just bumped into new Motorola Microsoft Smart Phone which is a PDA cum Camera Phone Motorola MPx200 is a one good thing which is getting added to my wish list. why is it there well though its competition Samsung I PH 500 is a damn one PDA cum phone which one wants but the price for an item is more than my budget and as you people know with my blog everyday a new item is added to wish list.

With Ce.Net platform comming in i will advice people to wait before they jump into the temptation of buying a smart phone . As i have not seen any new smart phone working on the latest platform and just people like me which earlier went into temptation of buying the first and the best Camera Phone on the block (NOKIA 7650 of which i am proud) are sitting dumped with its 4096 colors and comming in of all new 65,000 color phones.

WAIT WAIT and WAIT!!!! that will be the key to success and elemination of products of my wish list.

Hi fella's,

sorry for not writting for so many days. I have been really busy packing up my life around me as time for going back to australia is comming near. I am so much involved on "Router's" and working on "E-RFP engine" project that i am not getting any time for me and my family.

I have been working on an XML based framework for the E-RFP engine which will be done in such a manner so that once the project is complete adding up of features and removal of features wont be a problem. This is the first time i am proposing use of XML at such a large scale.

VXML based application processing is another thing on the card and using RTMP(real Time messaging Protocol) with FLASH MX Communication Server. This will lead to creation of a never seen Messaging Application for the market and immediate deployment. I m ready to share more information of Communication Server and RTMP on request of blog reader's.

I have question's for all readers should i write more about IMAP4 in next comming up blogs or more on RTMP,VXML and use of FLASH COMMUNICATION SERVER. Do inform.

Hello sunshine,

today i spent whole day revising subnetting which i learnt for CCNA some time ago and the major part was spent visiting different CAR Audio Showroom around New Delhi and damn it was a real shock to see such a large difference in price from one joint to another.

After going through the vast range of systems on display, i narrowed down on the 3 brands

i) JVC
ii) Pioneer
iii) Blaupunkt

These brands were selected based on the following criteria

i) PRICE (Major Factor)
ii)Quality (Reputation from people who conduct WAR'S of STERO's)
iii)WARRANTY ( REPLACEMENT)

Price did play a big role in narrowing down on different models from these companies, as more the flashier or graphic equalizer (BLAH BLAH!!! TECH TERMS USED in AUDIO INDUSTRY )system you want more expensive they become.

I was clear as far one thing was concern, pay extra 100$ but get a CD MP3 Player which will last longer as this is the technology of the PRESENT i will not say future for now. Rather than price of system it was the vast collection of MP3's collected from various sources which were motivating me toward purchase of MP3 CD Player for my CAR. My CAR (HONDA CITY 1.5 EXI) is my favourite baby and the SUZUKI WAGON-R is the latest kid in the family need a system each.

It was a clear decision that need not spend more than 350$ per car in any case and a combined limit cannot be used for manipulation purposes. Very well!!!!!

So price being a factor narrow for a joint to depend down narrowed down on a corner of defence colony flyover in lajpat nagar. After goin thru various shown got down to JVC SYSTEM with BLAUPUNKT Speakers.

JVC SYSTEM with REMOTE CONTROL - 250$

BLAUPUNKT SPEAKER SYSTEM - 100$

DAMN was a hard decision. Need to get hold of SHIKHAR RAI and his HARD DISK need songs all movies he dumped from fast connection in AUSTRALIA.

Hello everyone,

i am very sorry for going missing from last 2 days could not help it. I had a friend from Bombay visiting me in New Delhi.He is a really good guy and we have spend a good time during University time.

It was a kind of re-union for everyone here in india. We had a blast of the time. Specially being away from New Delhi for last 1 year. Me and my friend got lost driving around the well architected Central Delhi. As dammnit it all looks the same. Finally after 2 hrs of going around we finally reached our destination with a definate Rs 2000 fine comming our way for number of red lights jumped and one way entered.

Finally end of the day had a rollercoaster of the day specially with body crying for SLEEP at 2:00 AM in the night where MIND was asking for MORE. Today again had been summoned by friends but i am struck with project and cant leave the desk.

Today i have been working on finding information on Indian Vedic Moon sign based astrology system and had found out if there is a good site available which provide a mixture of FREE SERVICES and proffesionally guided CONSULTATION SERVICES. The site would do wonders with the most profit making and unorganized sector on the block. Based on the information i have gathered i plan to make a presentation for the Corporate Board and ask them to give it in for temptation for starting up this Idea. To ensure this gets a boost i have already shooted an e-mail to the right people and booked a domain name astrologicalhelp.com with a small template got designed by the E-DESIGN TEAM.

Thinks look good and friends wait for few days and the site will start to show up. I have 100% confidence in this project and another project of mine www.admissionhelp.com Its a great idea and there is nothing existing like it in whole of South Asia and with right direction and mixture of information . Sucess is going to touch in.

Good Day Mate's,

I was waiting for this moment since yesterday and whole night i was thinking about various activities which i will do and share with my friends on this page but to my disappointment it was not all possible due to tremendous pressure at work side due to new projects comming in the organization.

Whole day was spended looking into my good old friend XML. The new project which has come in will give an opportunity to use my mind on better use of XML for a simple thing which could have been done using defined ASP coding.

.NET Web Services has already shown me some light and tonite's homework on the internet will be to find more information on SOAP. Beside my usual work going on towards Router managment application with help of my study of CCNA.

If things go well and way the projects have started i am 100% sure my project team will come out with best performance my organization could expect from any team.

As i have done most of my higher education abroad(out of my home country INDIA) the level of expectancy i think so which i carry is more from graduates as i have all my life listerned to big praises about indian Engineering Programs and Masters in Computer Science Program but to my regret people which have gone through them have turned out to be totally of no use to the Small and Medium size Software development corporation as the level of pressure financially and work is really high in the organization and there is no period like learning period given to these kind of people making it really hard for them to adjust to rapidly changing Technologies.

I will not blame any individual for that but only education department in india which should have an organization which could standarize courseware which could be taught at all goverment owned institutes or atleast set a minimum standard for these courses being run to be updated.Till date this kind of thing is not done students with course done from local neighbourhood computer education center will be preffered over students who have done Bachelors or Masters In computer Science from reputed universties in india.

Another thing just to get people's mind off the little topic 8910i is the best phone in the market now from NOKIA. But if in yor country 3G is available do give them a chance as they are the phones of the future.

I will be soon doing my review on all smart phones in market and get back to you all

I have taken a big step in putting my thoughts on the web after thinking about it for ages.It took lot of encouragement from my friends(addicted blogger's) to get me online and share the idea's and other stuff which i keep on mailing individually to my friends and messaging on MSN messenger.
